Therapeutic Touch Services

Your body is your temple; it is the only place you have to live. In order for the body to function it must be able to move without hindrances such as pain, stiffness, and inflammation, all of which can contribute to stagnation in the body leading to illness and dis-ease.

My goal is to help people achieve their wellness goals. I utilize a number of modalities and methods and tailor them to suit individual needs. We discuss a plan to address things like chronic pain, past injuries, trauma, low energy, headaches, sleep issues and low mobility to get you to a place of well being.

I encourage clients to try different modalities and treatments as you may find that different approaches and techniques may yield better results. Have a look at the services and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai-massage-history.jpg

Traditional Thai massage, known as nuad bo-ran, also called Thai Yoga Massage, is an ancient healing system that combines broad and targeted acupressure, massage, stimulation of energy lines called sen, and passive assisted yoga postures and stretches.

My unique, custom sessions incorporate aspects of yoga including poses that mirror yoga moves and elements of pranayama, or breath regulation, to make this a deeply therapeutic and renewing session.

Thai Massage is great for:

Athletes

Low Back Pain

Range of Motion

Flexibility

How is Thai Massage different?

While typical Swedish massage is performed on a massage table without clothing and with the use of a liniment like oil, Traditional Thai Massage is performed on a comfy mat on the floor with the recipient clothed in loose, comfortable clothing, such as what one might wear for yoga or exercising. Oils and lotion are not typically used and massage strokes, compression, and stretching are applied over clothing.

Massage therapy involves the manipulation of muscles, tendons, skin and other soft tissues to reduce stress, pain and muscle tension. It's increasingly offered to augment traditional therapies, and can be administered by itself or in combination with techniques such as aromatherapy or acupressure.

Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension.
